Sign Up for the MGA Club Championships March 15 & 17
Sign up is open for the Club Championship and Senior Championships on the Tournaments page of the website or in the Pro Shop. The two day medal-play tournament will have three divisions: 1.) Club Champion/gross division, an open age division where players play from their usual blue or white tees; 2.) Club Champion/net division, an open age division where players play from their usual white or gold tees; and 3.) Senior Champion/net division for players 75+ who play from the white or gold tees. Entry fee is $50, plus there will be optional $20 skins and $20 KPs. The top-three teams in each division will receive payouts at the awards ceremony where there will be appetizers and drinks.
Annual Meeting March 17
There will be the MGA's annual spring meeting following the Club Championships on March17. The agenda will be posted soon.
Creighton and Sakai Win Member-Member Tournament
Bob Creighton and Ken Sakai, second-place finishers in flight #1, defeated last year's champions and flight #2 winners, Paul Barzman and Paul Maudslien on the final hole (#18) of the Championship Horse Race. This marks both Creighton's and Sakai's first Member-Member Championship, though Sakai has been in the finals for the past three years placing second or third each time. Finishing in the third position in the Horse Race was the team of Neil Donnelly and Pat Parmalee, the second place finishers of flight #2. Other teams making to the Horse Race were: Jon Bradbury and Ed Orosco, the top team in flight #1, Bill Heald and Jon Berta, first place in flight #3, Rocky Wheeler and Jeff Jordan second in flight #3, Matt Kurz and Dave Roper first place in flight #4, and George Johnson and Ted Rasor second in flight #4. Gone But Not Forgotten: Russell "Woody" Woodall
Long-time Desert Falls and MGA member Woody Woodall died at 83 of natural causes early on Feb. 25 in his hometown of Vancouver, WA. MGA member Pat Talarico, remembers Woody from their high school days in Vancouver, here at Desert Falls and also at Royal Oaks CC in Vancouver where they both were members. "Woody was a great guy and will be missed," said Pat. Woody is survived by his wife Renee`, two daughters, two stepsons and six grandchildren.

Jordan and Wheeler Win the Governor's Cup +1 up
Jeff Jordan and Rocky Wheeler, the winners of the Championship Bracket, defeated Bryan Anderson and Bob Bowman, the Consolation Bracket winning team, in the final match +1 up on Friday, Feb.12. The match was tight going into hole #16 when the Jordan and Wheeler team went 1 up. On the 18th hole all four players were on the green in three when Bowman sunk a 20 ft. putt, Jordan then missed his putt leaving it to Wheeler who sunk a 12 footer to win the match. The MGA welcomed 16 new and returning members to its '20-21 roster including: Bill Bester, Jon Bradbury, Daniel Cruz, Neil Donnelly, Kevin Hegeman, Rich Haydon, Rob Henry, Jeff Jordan, John "Sonny" Loidhamer, Rich Jorski, Ed Orozco, Michel Poirier, Ron Redmond, Darrell Ripley, Dave Roper, and Rocky Wheeler. The MGA roster stands at 74 members, if you know of someone.who might be interested in joining contact the MGA.
